Halloween in OKC

The girls and I went to OKC for Halloween since Dan and William left early Friday for Waco.  They planned all summer to attend the Baylor Homecoming festivities and the big game in the new stadium.  Unfortunately, the game was Nov. 1st and so the guys needed to leave on the 31st in order to really enjoy the entire weekend.  I didn't want to be stuck in Tulsa over Halloween, so that's why we skipped town for Bebe and Pops' house!

Bebe and Pops have lots of Halloween yard art on their street.  So right before we left to trick-o-treat, I took the girls to the neighbor's houses to see the blow up toys in person.  They got a real kick out of them and loved them even more once it was dark outside.

Pops and I took the girls trick-o-treating early because the temperature was dropping and at dark, the high was going to be 35.  COLD!  So we took them at 5pm and walked around for about 45 minutes.  Anna had a blast ringing doorbells and selecting lollipops from the baskets.  Adeline loved seeing all the kids in costumes.  She especially enjoyed helping Bebe pass out the candy once we got home.

Taking the girls early worked out perfectly.  They got their fill of fun before they were tired and freezing.  I was sad that William wasn't with us on Halloween, but I knew he was having a blast in Texas with his cousins.  He even took his costume and went trick-o-treating with cousins.  So glad he didn't miss any of the fun.

Pumpkin Patch with the Myers

The Myers family came to visit us in Tulsa over fall break.  Even though they have 4 girls in their family, William absolutely LOVES spending time with them.  They are country girls, so anything outdoors, full of action and sporty is right up their alley.  William and Kate are the same age and she loves to run and play sports.  So the two of them pal around a lot.

While they were in Tulsa, we drove outside of town to a pumpkin festival.  It was on a farm and there games and activities for the kids.  We also hit the zoo and spent long evenings swimming in the hotel pool.

We are so excited for them to come back in December and ride the Dry Gulch Christmas Train with us!

Halloween 2014 - Bumble bees and airplane mechanic

For Halloween this year, the girls decided to be bumble bees and William decided to be an airplane mechanic.  William was excited about his costume, but I think we're reaching the years when costumes are still kinda cool, but not a big deal.  He had a hard time deciding what to be and I suggested he reuse an old costume from last year.  But, he finally thought up "airplane mechanic," and with about 3 days to go, I got all the patches sewn on the jumpsuit.  He was pleased!

The girls were bumble bees.  I actually found the costumes last year after Halloween and had them stashed in the costume closet.  They were both delighted and I think the best part was that the costume was comfortable.  Anna was head over heels for her costume and LOVED the "crown" headband the most.  She slept in her costume for 5 straight nights and wore it all day long for about 2 weeks.  She rarely goes a day without asking about her bumble bee costume and her crown.  It's a hoot to watch and reminds me so much of the years William wore is pilot costume 24/7 everywhere we went in DC.

William and Dan were going to Baylor Homecoming over Halloween weekend, so we tried our best to celebrate in costume before they left.  We hit the Trunk O Treat at church and had a great time.  The kids loved all the games and candy prizes.  I think Anna ate about 10 Dum Dum lollipops that night.  Her favorite game was picking a lolly off the sucker tree.  If we took our eyes off of her, she would dart over to the tree and tear open a lollipop and stuff it in her mouth.

Baylor Homecoming, Waco Texas

William and Dan had a great time in Waco for Baylor Homecoming.  William has heard Dan talk about Baylor's Homecoming for years.  Dan was especially thrilled at the opportunity to watch the Bears play football in the new stadium.

The boys had awesome weather for the game.  William loved all the fanfare including a jam packed weekend of fun with his cousins.  I am SO glad they got to experience this together.  What a memory for both of them!

October fun

We are off to a busy start this October.  William is now a Wolf Scout and he sold $350 in popcorn sales for his scouting account.  He likes to wear the uniform to school and so far, he is really enjoying the Boy Scout program.  The girls are just running around being your typical 2 and 3 year old trouble.  They love school and Adeline is busy taking her ballet lesson on Tuesdays.  Anna would give anything to take ballet, but for now she hangs with me in the lobby.  The weather is cooling down and we've enjoyed several nice days playing outside.  There is always something going on around here!
